Host a Strawkle

There are many underwater areas around Sydney, and more widely, around Australia that are covered in rubbish. By hosting a Strawkle you can inspire your community to act on plastic pollution, whilst helping collect important data on marine debris in your local area.

FAQ’s

Can I host a one-off Strawkle event?

Sure you can! However, we recommend hosting monthly, fortnightly or weekly strawkles for a set period of time (e.g. over summer) so you can build a community and start to see results at your site.

How much time does it take to run a Strawkle?

Hosting your first Strawkle event will take about 25 hours of your time, including event organisation and running the clean-up.

Although some of the tasks involved can seem a bit mundane or daunting, the rewarding feeling you get after your first event makes all the hard-work worth it.

Once you’ve ticked off your first event, the process is much smoother and you’ll know the ropes.
